RD: When did you start painting??

Ajax: Actually my painting skills are limited to city walls and bus stop benches. I mostly draw, design and do lay out stuff. I work with photo shop allot as well, I learned from one of the best. Back about 9 years ago I learned from a good friend Ron Donavan who is with San Francisco's Fire House gang. A poster company.

RD: Where are you from??

Ajax: I was born down in the "Murder City Fresno California". Unfortunately my home town is more known for its high homicide rate than it's wealth of talent that actually does exist down there. I say down there because FRESNO is located down in the gut of Cali. By the time I hit my teens I moved to Los Angeles Cali and most of my adult life was also spent in Los Angeles. I'm a native imagine that!

RD: Main influences??

Ajax: As an artist I will have to say Robert Williams and Marco Almera whom are two of the most amazing artists in the world but that's not fair because there are more who are very good. Almera's work is just so fucking bad ass though! Some of his works remind me of this old Burger King lobby inside this Greyhound Bus station when I was a kid...just very 70's. Robert Williams is just a freak man. In music it was people like KISS, The Stooges, Cheap Trick, AC/DC, The Ramones, The Stones and The New York Dolls who really shaped my musical taste. To be able to have said that I got to tour for the original KISS in 2000 is just amazing to me.

RD: Do you have to get in the "zone" to draw, or do you just jump \line right into it??

Ajax: Fuck yeah! So much man......That is the one thing that I would change about my self. You have to just bust your ass at 8:00am every morning till 5:00pm ya know? like a true professional but with me? oh no the fuckin' planets all got to be in line and my sign has to be on the rise ha ha ha it fucking sucks. I tend to also draw motivation through songs and bands that I really dig ya know? The bands who put me in the mood.

RD: What kind of Music do you listen to??

Ajax: Everything. punk, blues, hip hop, rap, honky tonk, and rock n ‘roll you name it and I probably have an appreciation for it. Allot of people trip when they see my record collection because I have rare shit like The Dogs Da Mour next to MORRISEY who is next to Ice Cube.

RD: How did you develop your style??

Ajax: I would draw or color on everything as far back as I can remember. As a little kid I would trace KISS album covers like Alive and Destroyer, Ken Kelly rocks also as an artist by the way. I think my favorite of all time was Rock n' Roll Over I had a blast tracing that one. I also spent a large portion of my child hood in lock down so I had time to developed my skills in the A, and C units of the Fresno County Juvenile Hall (laughs).

RD: Do you have any crazy Tour moments??

Ajax: Yeah I actually have a bunch but there was one time in particular that sticks out while on the KISS tour in ST Louis Mo. Our trailer was infested with bees and we had a deli tray in our trailer from the Amphitheater kitchen. Well I got the stupid idea that it would be hella funny if I wrapped my whole head in lunch meat, WHAT!?! Why you ask? I have no fucking clue I was just being a jack ass for some reason. Anyway I think it is on video also so after I was all wrapped up like a human sandwich I decided it would be funny to walk around the parking lot and fuck with people and everyone was tripping on me right? All of a sudden out of nowhere I get swarmed by bees man because of all of the ham and turkey and roast beef that my head was wrapped up in. At the time it was some fucking scary shit but looking back it was some funny stuff! I am glad that I can look back in laughter.

RD: What’s your biggest accomplishment in terms of Art??

Ajax: Probably designing for the KISS Reunion tour back in 1996. Someone told me that my KISS ICONS have made Gene Simons millions! I recently found this picture of those four round KISS ICONS hanging from the rafters in the BUTAKAN arena in Japan......I was like wow!!! I created that shit ya know? Frank Munoz was the rep for KISS at the time and he really made it all happen. Munoz took my original KISS icons designs to Sony Signatures and the band and apparently they all loved my concepts. This year there will be a pictorial novel coming out that will feature my original KISS reunion poster design called THE SECOND COMING ( a slogan I came up with) and my original KISS ICONS.

RD: Do people ever send you pictures of tattoos of your work??

Ajax: I am friends with The 69Eyes and a couple of those guys have asked me to design their ink work for them and also I have had fans send me their pics with KISS tattoos that I designed. That is some shit that you don't take lightly.

RD: What do you think of porn??

Ajax: Porn can be a healthy good thing (((IF))) you do not allow it to consume you. My self like most red blooded American men love the girl girl stuff. Sex is a beautiful thing between consulting adults.

RD: Do you like Horror Movies?? If so What’s your Favorite??

Ajax: From today Rob Zombie is king hands down and House Of A Thousand Corpses is just brilliant! I am heavy into the 70's culture i.e. rock, movies ect ect. I dig the whole vibe of what Rob Zombie does ya know? He successfully captures this raw analog texture in his work. I remember growing up and my mom taking me to my babysitters house when ever she would go out like on a Saturday night and this lady lived in this very old rickety hand built house and it was filthy! In the summer time it was fucking miserably hot and all she had was this old swamp water cooler. Anyways we would be up late watching this show called Creature Feature that was on every Saturday or Friday and the house was dark and the air was damp from the old water cooler and that hypnotizing sound that a swamp cooler makes together with cock roaches running all over you and the walls and the Creature Feature show blaring in the background man it just freaked my ass out! Well Rob Zombie's flicks remind me of those days and I really dig it lol.

RD: Do you have any "groupie stories"??

Ajax: Yes plenty, One time we were opening a Fiona Apple/Social Distortion show and this fan comes up to me asking if I would sign her breasts. She was well endowed no doubt but I went with my male intuitions and asked her what her age was. She told me she was 15 and I said I think you are amazing and thank you for your love and support but you better take your little ass home right now. I gave her the autograph on a free CD. I have had female fans send me all kinds of crazy shit from nude pictures to letters telling me how depressed they are and how they want to kill them selves. It is really strange when you receive a letter from some young person who is thanking you because you saved his or hers life through your music. That is heavy shit man.

RD: Any Crazy Sexual Exploits to brag about??

Ajax: I will have to plead the fifth.........to protect the guilty! lol.

RD: What do you think of razordolls.com??

Ajax: I really dig what you have going on here, It is like Suicide girls but on the next level. I am very interested in forming a strategic marketing partnership with Razor dolls at some point in the future. I believe in networking.

RD: Who’s your favorite razordoll??

Ajax: Oh my God that is not a fare question at all. I cannot answer this because every woman on the site is beautiful! I am going to have to say that all are my favorite!

RD: Do you think Porn will ever be an accepted art form??

Ajax: I don't think that the industry would want porn to be an accepted art form. In my best opinion, As soon as something like porn is accepted it loses all taboo and that to me is what makes this product interesting, mysterious, and dangerous. Porn will always be looked upon as evil and dirty but only because for the most part the American people are programmed to think a certain way and sex is one of those very touchy subjects here in the wild wild west. I am not going to say that I have never watched porn but at the same time I am not going to say that exploiting ones self is a smart thing to do either. I have women in my life that I love very dearly and I would never accept seeing them involved in the porn industry and I am sure that for the most part most men and women would agree with me on this. It is double standard but that is the way most people are and that is ok.

RD: What upcoming artists should we look out for??

Ajax: Well my favorite band is THE NAPOLEON BLOWNAPARTS because I think the lead singer is hot!..... lol no in all seriousness? I like all kinds of cool stuff but since I am assuming we are talking rock n' roll music I would say that THE D4 are great. I dig allot of cool bands, I have been jamming in this band from Orange County California called THE INFAMOUS UNKNOWNS who kick ass and THE HITCH HIKERS featuring members of THE HUMPERS are also a great fucking outfit from the west coast and ROXXAN from Cali are also good GLUECIFER fucking rock FU MANCHU rock and just about anything GEAR HEAD RECORDS puts out rocks. In fact I highly recommend that if you kids want some real cool shit go to www.gearheadrecords.com

RD: What kind of girls are you into??

Ajax: Smart, bright, polite, kind, cool, SPONTANIOUS is a must!, open minded, UNINHIBITED is a must, beautiful, a woman who can cook, a listener,\line someone who is not the jealous type or possessive, red heads rule but I like every color in the rainbow. Also a woman and a man have to be into the same things or a relationship can't work. Long legs and milky skin and very powerful but not overly opinionated. Basically my girl does not exist! lol.

RD: Who would you say is your dream girl? Ummm I really really really really dig Neve Campbell! Now she is it in my eyes. Neve if you ever read this? Come check out my music and say hi at my myspace http://www.myspace.com/blownaparts lol.

RD: What would you say is the biggest problem with society today??

Ajax: Understanding global warming is a pretty serious problem and pretentious women are way out of control lol. It is a global social issue that no one seems to want to tackle this global warming thin. Sure we talk about it all the time but nothing seems to be getting resolved. Human beings are a nasty species if you really look at it. Men for the most part (NOT ALL OF US) are fucking retarded and if I were a woman? I would be a lesbian! hint hint lol. Ask your self why there has never been a Chicano, black, or female president? Or hell a president of any other color for that matter? I love my country and support its good side 100% but there are things that must change. Through my eyes the American society is split down the middle. You have the haves and the have nots and pretty soon there is not going to be a middle ground anymore it will be rich and poor. Another issue affecting me is that our music programs are disappearing from our schools at a scary pace and gas prices are fucking out of control! By the way I fully support the SAVE THE MUSIC VH1 program and I think musicians from both the major and indi worlds should get involved but they probably won't. Society does not give a fuck if an issue does not directly effect them and in the music industry no matter what anyone tells you? It is rare for people to help each other, which is why I try my best to help if I can other bands and artists. People care more about their Goddamn BMW car payments and lip injections then they do about what is really going on around them and that is a bunch of fucking bullshit! Wake up mother fuckers! That is what I think about society.

RD: Whats your opinion on the art/music scene today??

Ajax: It is nearly impossible for me but I try hard not to have an opinion because opinions are like assholes.............every body has one. I think Dirty Donny, Robert Williams and Marco Almera are the fucking best in the art scene but that is just my own favorites list. Music seems to be producing allot of shit if we talk about the pop charts but then again hasn't the pop charts always been one big nasty toilet? And remember!! this is just my own opinion. The music industry is really gross.

RD: Anything you want to plug, do it here??

Ajax: Sure....Eerie Pop sells a variety of cool hip stuff that I design. Everything from coffin display cases to the very hot selling collectible dual poster blister packs and T-shirts to buttons to stickers. I would like to invite the kids to come by and check out some cool stuff and when the new Napoleon Blownaparts record finally drops? It will also be on their. Follow this link>> http://stores.ebay.com/Eerie-Pop-Culture Also check out my band The Napoleon Blownaparts by clicking here! http://www.blownaparts.com or http://www.myspace.com/blownaparts

RD: Any last words??

Ajax: Yes. Get an education! from a young musicians perspective. the music industry is a fast way to make allot of money and a short cut through life while getting paid to do what you love. Believe me this industry is not at all what you think it is so please! Hip-Hop, Rock, Punk or what ever it is that you are into stay your ass in school. I highly recommend taking business courses if you decide to follow your dreams and become a full time musician and remember network and success breads success.
