Interview with Spectre Deano from THE WRATH.:
RD: when did you start the band
Spectre: Rising from the dying summer of 2003, The Wrath was spawned to embody the power of real rock n roll.
RD: where are you from??
Spectre: We lurk in the shadows of the neon glow of Gold Coast, Australia.
RD: main influences??
Spectre: The Wrath take no prisoners in their quest for delivering heavy music that defies labels, and tears down the mediocrity of genre. Having said that, to give you some idea of what we like to listen to - The Cure, The Misfits, Motley Crue, The Cramps, Social Distortion, Cradle Of Filth, Nekromantix, Tiger Army, The Meteors, Pantera, Rancid, Afi, Avenged Sevenfold, Guns'n'Roses, Johnny Cash, Chris Isaak, The Clash, Bauhaus, Danzig, Elvis... the list goes on and on.
RD: what do you think of porn??
Spectre: these days it's a bit too 'in your face' for my liking. theres no mystery or much creativity about it... give me some classic 70's & 80's porn any day - got to love those funkadelic sound tracks, not too sure about the big muffs though.
RD: are the girls in austrailia different than u.s. chix???
Spectre: i guess it depends on what part of the country they are from - as we both live in very large countrys, im sure a chick from the New York City is gonna be fairly different from an aussie lass from Byron Bay... then again probably not that much different when you strip them down to bareness.
RD: hows the porn down under??
Spectre: thriving, just like everywhere else in the world for the last thousands of years. where we live you can go to the beach with your sunglasses on and get it for free. BBQ's, Beers and Babes - thats all an Aussie bloke really wants.
RD: favorite groupie story
Spectre: on tour our roadie getting hit up by a groupies mother.(the rest is classified).
RD: whats the scene like there??
Spectre: some places, especially more regional towns, it absolutely cranks - the kids are so energetic about it, it's like there is nothing else to do. it doesnt matter what you wear or what style of music your into - you have to get along, or else there would be no scene. other places like in the major cities, the scenes are bigger, but a lot more 'clicky', fashion orientated, and segregated.
RD: any plans to come to the u.s.??
Spectre: as soon as we tour Australia a bit more and save some dosh (unless anyone wants to bring us out there, wink wink ;)... we have good contacts over there from a previous band touring west US/Canada with The Dayglo Abortions and Opressed Logic.
RD: tell us what you have out??
Spectre: with the current kickarse line up which has only been together since Halloween 2005, a short EP titled 'Rise Up', and soon to be released is an 8 song mini album (recorded just this week!). i think we are going to title it 'Terrorvision', but dont quote me.
RD: who is packin the most heat (in their pants that is??)
Spectre: Our drummer D Slaughter... in his ruggers.
RD: whos the biggest slut in th band
Spectre: D Slaughter, he gives the girls rides home, and then claims that they are no good and wouldnt go near them... ahh but im sure the matress in the back of his van is there for a reason.
RD: does makeup help rockers get laid??
Spectre: Not in our case - cause D Slaughter is the only one who gets laid and the only one who doesnt wear makeup!
RD: what do you think of razordolls
Spectre: hey, someones gotta do it. i would love to see more (in the members section, nudge nudge ;)
RD: whos yer fave razordoll
Spectre: Felon - her band 'The Tramp Skirts' are outragous... i wanna hear (and see) more.
RD: what aussie bands should we look out for??
Spectre: The Cheveron Whores, A Secret Death, Against, Vicious, H-Block 101, The Amity Affliction, The Daylight Curse, Avenge The Dead.
RD: have you opened for any bigger bands??who??
Spectre: Last month we supported The Misfits and we are about to play with The Darkest Hour. We have also supported Tiger Army, Good Riddence, No Use For a Name, Lagwagon, The Real McKenzies + more.
RD: fave horror flix??
Spectre: i like the old B grade stuff, like Attack of the Killer Tomatoes etc, more funny than scary. any movie with vampires and nudity gets five stars.
RD: how would you like to die??
Spectre: prepared. so i get that 'life flashes before your eyes' experience.
